30 Week Update

It’s been a while since we’ve shared any pictures, so we wanted to put up a couple of shots. We have a couple of new pieces of furniture around the house:

And Maria is looking beautiful:

Wholesome Autumn Fun

We had a great visit with Helen, John, Vera and Fae this weekend. Here are a couple of shots of Maria and the girls.

Nursery Update

After weeks of procrastination and hours of work, the nursery is starting to come together. The paint is up, the rug is down, and the furniture hunt is on.

The furniture that’s in here today may well be moved out as we start accumulating cribs and rocking chairs and the like.

It’s nice to have the tarps and paint cans back in the basement, and it’s really fun see Nubs’ room start to come together.

First trip to Lambeau

Maria and I got up to Lambeau this past weekend for a Packers game. It was Maria’s first visit, as well as Nubs’, though her memory of the day will probably be fuzzy. It was a fun day, and Maria looked great in her Packers gear.

A Quick Update

Here’s a picture of Maria making grilled cheese:

She is doing well – still a lot of kicking going on, and I just received a report of the first visible kick a few minutes ago. We got a letter from our doctor telling us that Nubs passed her recent ultrasound exam (where they checked on the physical development of all her parts). That good report is hanging up now as her first entry on the Refrigerator of Pride.

As you can see, the nursery is empty and the primer is drying. Soon we’ll start putting it together, which I’m sure will be more interesting than these pictures. Once we finish this room we will have officially covered all of the crazy paint left in this house aside from the orange stairs (which are surprisingly okay), and the haunting messages / body prints covering the back room in the basement. (A room we refer to as the scary room.)

Kicks

Nubs continues to grow and get stronger, and last week Maria started to feel her kicks. I’ve also gotten to feel some pretty clear kicks already, which was really fun. It’s exciting to know that she’s in there getting stronger, and that she’s still so active.

Ultrasound – 20 Weeks

Well, we have some exciting news to share today. Maria just had her 20 week ultrasound, and everything looks good so far. They need to send the pictures off to some doctors to check everything out, but all of the right parts seemed to be in the right places.

Nubs has some nice long arms and legs, toes, fingers, and lots of new organs. This was another visit where Nubs was moving nonstop, always pumping those arms and legs, and rolling over. We also learned today that we can start using pronouns on this site because…

[singlepic id=35 w=320 h=240 float=center]

Nubs is a girl!

(Maria felt that image was the best way to break the news to everybody.)

We also learned that Nubs has her head right around Maria’s bellybutton, and she weighs about 14 ounces.

Week 18

A quick shot of Maria at 18 (almost 19) weeks. We have the 20-week ultrasound scheduled a week from Wednesday, where we will hopefully learn the sex of Nubs and get to check in on limbs and so forth.

Things I look forward to buying #2

Transformers. We can start with Wheeljack and Metroplex:

As my Dad commented earlier, I do in fact already own a Wheeljack, but that’s MY Wheeljack, Dad. Unfortunately these guys will need to wait until Nubs is smart enough not to eat plastic guns, but they can always just sit in my office until then.

All is quiet

Maria had a quick checkup yesterday, and everything looked good. Sounds like Nubs is moving around a lot and making lots of good heart beat noises. There’s another set of blood work being processed, but we shouldn’t really hear anything else until the big 20 week ultrasound where (hopefully) the gender will be determined.
